Kyra's Story
Kyra was adopted November 2003

Kyra was surrendered to rescue by a very caring family.  They adored her, but could not meet her intense needs.  Kyra's original owners tried to do everything right - they read up on the breed, they took her to puppy class, and they even took her to doggie day care a few times a week.  Even after all of this, they realized that Kyra was not a good match for their family.  Some Corgis need a job to do, while others are content to follow along with their families normal activities.  Kyra one of those Corgis that needs an active, working lifestyle to keep her sharp mind engaged.  Dedicated Corgi owners of many many years met her and uttered, "Oh My."  She was simply that busy.  Her family made the hard decision, and decided to let her go so she could be content in life.

Puppies are nature's ultimate booby trap, and Corgi puppies are no exception.  They are so very cute, and have a bright mind to match.  We had many people interested in adopting Kyra, but they were not prepared to give her a job.  We sought a home that would engage her in performance work on a regular basis; such as advanced training, agility, herding, tracking, & flyball.  Keeping Kyra physically and mentally busy would be a challenge, but a necessity.  A bored Corgi can find mischief and activities that would not please their owners.

Thankfully, Kyra met her match in a Corgi experienced family.  They have plans to participate in competitive obedience and other performance work.
